PIGGY LAUNCHER 2 · MANUAL

User manual

The same guide included in Piggy Launcher.

Getting started · navigation

Open settings from the top-left profile. Switch cards/grid at the bottom right and filter with categories. Search supports the on-screen keyboard, touch and controller.

In card view, left/right loops within the cards; up/down reaches the top and bottom menus. Grid navigation stays within the game grid.

In settings, A enters the selected page and B returns to the sidebar. The sidebar and bottom power buttons form a vertical loop.

Slide · Arcade · Wheel

Choose a display style under Settings → Theme and apply. Slide: Left/Right selects games, Up enters the top menu, Down enters categories. Arcade and Wheel: Up/Down selects games, Left enters the top menu, Right enters categories. Game selection loops. Keyboard and controller directions behave alike.

Menus use Left/Right. Down from the top, Up from the bottom, or Esc/B returns to games. Grid view preserves the selected game. Arcade/Wheel backgrounds can use a random screenshot or the theme image. Screenshots change only when the game changes; missing screenshots fall back to the theme image.

Game details · ROM navigation

Keyboard arrows and controller directions use the same navigation. Enter is A (select); Esc is B (back). In text fields, arrows move the cursor.

From Play/Presets/Batch settings or the ROM list, Left/Right enters the top menu. Up/Down from the top menu returns to your previous main-area item.

Left/Right cycles through the top controls. In the ROM screen, the last control in row one leads to the first in row two, and the last in row two leads to the first in row one. Left reverses this order. Disabled buttons are skipped.

Up/Down cycles through the PC actions or moves one ROM at a time. L/R (LB/RB) or PageUp/PageDown moves 14 ROMs, stopping at the first/last entry before wrapping on the next press.

Navigation hints have no time limit. Launch a game or tap the X at the top right of the hint to dismiss it permanently for that screen.

Register installed PC games

Settings → PC game registration → Automatic: select stores, search installed games, select results and register them. Progress appears in the results area.

Complete information fills missing metadata for registered games. Sign in using the store's login button when required. Enable automatic login for STOVE. Security checks or regional restrictions may prevent some metadata from loading; edit those fields manually.

Manual registration · editing

Browse to the executable to store an absolute path. Enter the title, developer, publisher, release date, description and artwork, then register/save. You can choose 1–10 screenshots.

Premium users can search Steam by title and select a result to fill the form. Review it and save; selecting a result never registers the game automatically. Deleting a card removes its launcher registration, not the installed game.

Emulators · cores · ROM folders

In Emulator settings, configure ① executable ② default core per system ③ ROM folders. Browsed paths are saved automatically. A system card appears once its emulator, core and ROM folder are configured.

Missing RetroArch cores can be downloaded when selected; internet is required. Multiple ROM folders can be linked per system. Switch between folder and combined views in the ROM list. Override the executable and core for individual ROMs in Edit information.

Refresh ROM lists · external gamelist.xml

2.0 uses gamelist.xml in the ROM folder. Refresh compares it with actual files and shows planned additions/removals. Confirm to create/update the XML. Browsing does not silently rebuild it.

You can use gamelist.xml and media produced by external tools if their paths match the files. Refresh is disabled during scraping.

ROM scraping · videos

Use the download button in the ROM list, then choose scope, mode and preferred region. Targets are checked automatically and the selected region is remembered. Save your ScreenScraper credentials for later use.

Video download is optional. A screenshot appears first; keeping a ROM selected for about two seconds starts its video. Sound is configurable. Missing fields appear in the log; available metadata is retained. Stop cancels ongoing requests without discarding data already saved.

Presets · batches · companion apps

Open presets and batches from PC game details. Premium presets apply settings such as resolution and volume before launch and restore them afterward. Check the selected monitor and values.

Batches start sequentially after each configured delay, measured from the preceding launch (default 3 seconds; 1–120). Slots 2 and 3 are premium. They do not wait for the previous program to exit.

ROM companion delay defaults to 10 seconds (3–60). Pending companions are cancelled if the emulator exits before they launch.

Controllers · on-screen keyboard

In Control settings, choose an action and press the desired controller button. Mappings save automatically. Defaults are A to confirm and B to go back. Some devices require manual mapping.

Open the on-screen keyboard from a search field to type using touch or a controller. Korean, English and Japanese input are available; a physical keyboard also works.

Account · offline use · notices · updates

Use your profile for Google sign-in and donations. Korean opens Naver; English/Japanese opens Ko-fi. Being offline or a network failure alone does not clear cached login/premium status.

On reconnection, notices, updates and login checks run in that order. Normal tasks stop while gaming and resume afterward. Read previous notices in Settings → Notices. Controller/update alerts are not stored there.

Use the update icon to review and start an update. Premium users with automatic updates enabled can proceed through a confirmation prompt.

Reset · uninstall · troubleshooting

Reset settings and reset library are separate actions. Library reset removes cards, not installed games or external ROMs.

If you opted into Windows app registration during installation, uninstall through Windows Settings. Only installed program files are removed; settings, library and user themes remain. For unregistered installations, close the launcher before managing its folder yourself.

If something fails, note the error ID and what you were doing, then attach logs from the installation's logs folder to a website bug report. To enable automatic error emails, save your reply email and consent in Launcher settings. In Settings → Themes, choose a light, dark or installed theme, check its preview, then select Apply. Import a theme ZIP to add it to the list. Theme browsing and save synchronization are under development.
